Every CompuServe user has an online address book that can be used to easily send Cismail messages from ReadCIS. This allows you to store the names and addresses of frequent correspondents, and to prepare mail by just typing a name on the To: line of the Create Mail dialog. To access the address book, GO ASCIIMAIL, and at the Mail! prompt type SET MODE MENU. You will see this menu... CompuServe Mail Main Menu *** No mail waiting *** 2 COMPOSE a new message 3 UPLOAD a message 4 USE a file from PER area 5 ADDRESS Book 6 SET options 9 Send a CONGRESSgram ($) ...choose option 5,and you will see this menu... CompuServe Mail Address Book 1 INSERT an entry 2 CHANGE an entry 3 DELETE an entry 4 LIST Address Book 5 Enter/Change your NAME/Postal Address 6 DISTRIBUTION lists ...make a choice from this menu, or type HELP for instructions. There are two parts for each entry, a Name and an Address. Examples... Address 1 Name: CIS Customer Service CIS Customer Service's address:70006,101 -OR- Address 2 Name: David Keppler David Keppler's address:INTERNET:salex@cix.compulink.co.uk -OR- Address 3 Name: Dennis Lefebvre Dennis Lefebvre's address: FAX:1-305-688-7661 Any valid CompuServe Mail address can be used, except POSTAL addresses, which are not yet supported by ReadCIS. When creating Cismail with ReadCIS you type only the person's name, and CIS will look up the address. You do not need to type the complete name, just enough to make a unique match in the book. If I'm the only Dennis in your book, "Dennis" will make a match. However, it will not match partial "words", neither "Den" nor nor "Dennis L" match "Dennis Lefebvre". If the name matches more than one entry, the script will fail.
